Almarine Thomas, RP
Hi, I’m Almarine — a Registered Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and teens (14+) through life’s most challenging and transformative moments. I support clients navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and periods where life feels overwhelming or stuck.
I offer therapy in person in Ottawa and online across Ontario and Quebec. At the core of my work is a belief that healing happens when people feel deeply seen, respected, and supported in a space that honours their values and lived experiences.
My Approach to Therapy

My approach is integrative, client-centred, and rooted in creating a space where you feel safe, grounded, and genuinely understood. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including TF-CBT, EFT, EMDR, CBT, DBT, and attachment-based and culturally responsive practices—to tailor therapy to your needs, goals, and values. For clients who wish, I also offer the option of integrating a Christian faith-based lens.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. You bring your lived experience, and I bring professional guidance, curiosity, and steady support. Together, we work toward clarity, resilience, and meaningful, sustainable change—at a pace that feels right for you.

My philosophy is rooted in the belief that each person holds the capacity for growth, healing, and resilience—even when life feels overwhelming or unclear. My role isn’t to tell you who to be, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of your story and discover what feels meaningful and true for you.
I believe healing begins with safety. When you feel genuinely seen and understood, you can explore difficult emotions with honesty and without fear of judgment. I strive to create a space where you can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself—whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, or simply wanting a deeper sense of clarity and direction.
I also recognize that no two journeys are the same. My approach honours your individuality, cultural background, and beliefs, including a Christian faith‑based perspective for those who wish to integrate faith. At the heart of my work is respect: for your pace, your autonomy, and your ability to shape your own path forward.
